CETIM was one of the entities invited to participate in the forum about the Galician Strategy of Circular Economy 2019-2030 held last December 20 at the Cidade da Cultura (Santiago de Compostela, A Coruña). The event served as a public presentation of the Galician Strategy of Circular Economy 2020-2030, the Xunta de Galicia’s new roadmap to make Galicia a reference in the change of development model.
The event was opened by the councilwoman of de Medio Ambiente, Territorio e Vivenda, Ms. Ángeles Vázquez Mejuto, and closed by the President of the Xunta de Galicia, Alberto Núñez Feijoo. The General Director of Calidade Ambiental e Cambio Climático, Ms. María Cruz Ferreira Costa, was responsible for explaining the document of the Galician Strategy of Circular Economy 2020-2030.
Mr Gumersindo Feijóo Costa, vice-rector of USC and Professor of Chemical Engineering, one of the drafters of the Strategy, participated in the Forum on the Galician Strategy of Circular Economy 2020-2030, representing the rectors of the Galician universities. He was accompanied in the debate by the Deputy General Director of Residuos, Ms. Verónica Tellado Barcia; the Deputy General Secretary of ANFACO – CECOPESCA, Mr. Roberto Alonso, and the Executive Director of CETIM, Ms. Lucía Vázquez Prado. Our Executive Director placed special emphasis on the potential benefits, not only environmental but also economic, of implementing innovation and circular economy policies.
