At CETIM we have increased our recruitment by 35% so far in 2023
The science and technology sector is one of the sectors that has created the most jobs in the last year.
We continue to look for profiles specialised in chemistry or chemical engineering, biotechnology, as well as industrial engineering, robotics, Artificial Intelligence and blockchain.
The scientific and technological sector is celebrating, as the latest data from the Labour Force Survey show that of the 603,900 jobs created between April and June, 103,600 belong to scientific and technical professional activities.
This is also demonstrated by the data collected by the National Institute of Statistics and by CETIM Technological Centre. So far this year, 22 workers have joined our staff at CETIM, thus increasing our level of recruitment by 35% compared to 2022. We currently have 76 people on our staff and, as explained Lucía Camino Vázquez, Executive Director of CETIM: “The multidisciplinary and highly qualified human team is our greatest asset, as 91% of the staff hired have a university degree and 38% have a doctorate”.
Youth employment
Reports produced by the Youth Institute show that the unemployment figures for the under-30s in Spain are also improving. An example of this is that in June 2023 there were 41,364 fewer young unemployed people than a year ago, which represents a drop of 9.79% in the last twelve months.
The Technology Centre located in Culleredo collaborates with the main Galician universities (A Coruña, Santiago and Vigo) and Vocational Training educational centres so that students can carry out training internships in a real working environment and thus complete their training. Vanessa Fernández, Head of People and Talent at CETIM: “At CETIM we have always been committed to the development of talent based on stability, promoting training and personal growth, fostering a climate that encourages the freedom of proposals and their development”.

During 2023, a total of 19 students from different educational institutions, such as the University of Lorraine (France), have already completed their training internships at CETIM. “We are in continuous growth and we have students who complete their training at our Centre, as well as the most qualified professionals, which makes us an extraordinarily rich and interrelated team, capable of offering solid and innovative proposals in the different areas in which we work”, Vanessa said.
As Vanessa Fernández explained, we are in “continuous growth” and, therefore, we continue to demand profiles in scientific areas in chemistry or chemical engineering, biotechnology, specialising in water treatment and in the development of environmental technologies, as well as technological profiles and industrial engineering, robotics, artificial intelligence and blockchain.
