At CETIM we held a sustainability day to establish scientific and business synergies with Business Factory ClimaTech
BF ClimaTech is the first incubation, acceleration and consolidation programme for projects that have a positive impact on the climate and the environment, facing present and future challenges.
Our Technological Centre is part of the Scientific Committee to ensure that the selected initiatives are viable, innovative and aligned with the global challenges facing the industry.

Today at CETIM we welcome in our facilities a group of Galician startups that are participating in the Business Factory ClimaTech, the first Galician environmental accelerator promoted by the Xunta de Galicia and the Clúster Galego de Solucións Ambientais e Economía Circular (Viratec).
BF ClimaTech is the first incubation, acceleration and consolidation programme for environmental and circular economy projects in Galicia. The aim is to support innovative projects that have a positive impact on the climate and the environment, facing present and future challenges.
To this end, they have an Executive Board, made up of the Xunta de Galicia, the Galician Institute for Economic Promotion (Igape), Xesgalicia and Viratec. Furthermore, within the ecosystem of the BF ClimaTech, the role of the driving companies also stands out, which contribute knowledge, dedication and resources; of the scientific entities, which contribute a specialised approach in the evaluation of projects; and of the investing entities, organised in Committees, whose representatives make up the Council of Entities.
CETIM is part of the accelerator’s Scientific Committee, whose objective is to ensure that the selected initiatives are viable, innovative and aligned with the accelerator’s global challenges. Within the framework of these challenges, which seek environmental and circular economy solutions, there are several challenges that coincide with the specific problems of the initiative’s driving companies.
Day of circular economy and sustainability at CETIM
Today in CETIM we organised a day on circular economy and sustainability in our facilities, and with the collaboration of Viratec, to show the startups participating in BF Climatech, the R&D projects in which we are working in our Technological Centre in this field and which represent 90% of our activity. The visit was opened by Lucía Camino Vázquez, Executive Director, and Adrián Rodríguez, Head of Business Development, who presented the work carried out by the Technological Centre in its three areas of specialisation: Advanced Materials, ECO BIO Technologies and Digital Industry.

“Collaboration is a key strategy to advance in the research of sustainable solutions and I am proud to see the commitment in Galicia to move towards more environmentally friendly models”, said Adrián.
This was followed by a tour of CETIM’s 10 laboratories (Chemistry, Bioprocesses, Batteries, Microbiology, Digital Industry, Construction, Polymers, Water, Analytical and Climatic Chambers), as well as its pilot areas. In more than 3,000 m2we develop technologies and solutions to increase the circular economy and sustainability of processes and products for multiple sectors: Construction, batteries and vehicles, forestry, water, textiles, etc.

The visit was closed by Ángel Sanabria, from CETIM’s Business Development Department, with a presentation on national and European funding opportunities for startups, which facilitate the market implementation of sustainable and circular solutions.
